McCOY, Bertha Joyce (Gilbert), 83, of Richmond, went to join the Lord on August 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur J. Gilbert Sr. of 27 years; and second husband, Harold McCoy, of 11 years. Also her son, Arthur J. Gilbert Jr. She is survived by three sons, (devoted son) Kelvin E. Gilbert of Richmond, G. Wayne Gilbert Sr. and his wife, Debbie, of Ruther Glen, Darryl Gilbert Sr. and his wife, Beverly, of Sandston; one sister, Phyllis K. Mallory (Wilbur); and a brother, Elwood Knight; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. She will be greatly missed. We Love You, MOM. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va., Tuesday and Wednesday, August 16 and 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.

To the family of Joyce, She is going to be missed so much at our 50+ club at the Meadowbridge SDA Church. Joyce always had a hug and kiss for everyone. A very special person. Also, her "BUTTER BEANS"will really be missed. They were the best and always a favorite. And when she didn't bring them it was a disappoinment. Joyce was such a important part of the club. To the family of Mrs. Joyce McCoy we were next door neighbors of Mrs.McCoy for 17 years and she was a sweet and kind person. Bobby said he will miss her sweet and kind hugs and kisses. Dearest, Wayne, Darrell, Kelvin,Knight, and Mallory family. My deepest condolences to your all during this difficult time. Joyce was a wonderful woman that was loving and kind. I will miss those hugs she had for me everytime I saw her. I know she was welcomed into heaven by those who have passed before and we have hope that we will be together again one day. I remember Joyce as a loving Mother and great neighbor. She even took me to the hospital when I was young and we had no car. Her caring and kind heart will always be my memory. My family sends prayers and love to Wayne, Daryl and Kelvin. Your Mom is a special lady.

Joyce was a mighty fine lady and an excellent neighbor. When I was ill, she asked may of you to pray for me. I will miss her terribly.

When I think of Joyce, I'll always think of her infectious smile ! She will surely be missed, prayers to all of you.
