MYERS, Deaconess Bertha A., of Richmond, departed this life December 26, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Myers Sr. She is survived by her children, Gloria Myers-LaSane (Ralph), Stenovia M. Roberts, Lorenzo (Karen), Robert Jr. (Brenda) and Darryl Myers; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Kate Keys (Albert); brother-in-law, Jessie Myers; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a member of the O.E.S. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 11 a.m. at Cedar Street Baptist Church, 2301 Cedar Street. Dr. Anthony Chandler officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

I remember my aunt. Living out of town, I would make my priority to go to see Aunt Susie everytime I came home. Around this time of the year Aunt would have me a cake made. R.i.H.P.Aunt Susie.

STENOVIA, I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE PASSING OF YOU MOTHER UNTIL I SAW IT IN THE NEWSPAPER THE DAY OF HER BURIAL. IF I HAD ONLY LOOKED AT THE PAPER THE DAY BEFORE, I SURLY WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. I ENJOYED TALKING TO HER WHILE SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. I was told by my mother, Aunt Two Lucy, as you all call her, that when I was born, Aumt Susie said, you better name that baby after me.
