Bertha spent 25 years as a loyal employee of International Paper in Camden, AR, where her dedication and work ethic were truly commendable. Together with her husband, Byrd Norris, she co-owned Norris Trucking Company in Mena, AR, a testament to their shared entrepreneurial spirit. Upon retiring, the couple enjoyed several years in a home on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, AR, before relocating to Collierville, TN, to be closer to their grandchildren.

Bertha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Byrd Norris, as well as her parents Fred Mitchell and Zula Riggs Mitchell. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Floyd Mitchell, William E Mitchell, Ralph Mitchell, and sister Nevella Mitchell Green.

She is survived by her sisters Shelby Mitchell Drummond and Ann Mitchell, her loving children James Larry Robertson (Karen) and Patricia Lynn Bonnette (Mike), and her cherished grandchildren Michelle Robertson Fischer (Steve), Scott Robertson (Patricia), and Alison Robertson. Bertha is also remembered by her four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Bertha Mitchell Norris will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, hard work, and generosity will forever be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 12-1 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. The funeral service will commence at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Ouachita County, AR.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bertha's honor to the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf or The National World War II Memorial. This reflects Bertha's compassionate spirit and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Not sure what to say?

Rest in peace my beautiful friend.

I am truly sorry to the family for your loss. Bertha lived across the street from me and I enjoyed visiting her to talk about the books that she was reading. I would always wave to her daughter Lynn when she was in town. I know she is dancing with Byrd again. Till we meet again Bertha.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Dearest Lynn, Larry and family,

My heart is saddened from learning about the death of your sweet mother. I hope your knowledge of her being such a good Christian woman gives you the peace and comfort you need during this difficult time. You are in our prayers and prayers.

Ann I’m so sorry for the passing of your sister. May God wrap his arms around you and give you the strength you need in the days ahead.
