A fine and gentle man. He steadfastly advocated the peaceful use of nuclear energy to resolve the Earth's current and emerging power crises knowing that emerging nations'demands on fossil fuels for electrification systems would and is destructive to both established and developing economies. We are witnessing what he foresaw. He was more than a nuclear scientist, husband, father, Rotarian and friend. He was a kind and gentle man always thinking of how his knowledge could be imparted to assist...

I am so sorry to hear of Bert's death. I knew him as far back as 1965 when I was at Argonne National Lab. I came to GE in 1975 and worked in Bert's organization. I neve knew a finer person. He was indeed a pioneer in the nuclear power business and his contribution to it will benefit mankind.
