Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Bertran Floyd Sampson, Jr. who passed on September 1, 2021 will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue Tampa, Florida, Pastor Dr. Mark T. Jones, Sr. with Pastor Antonio Hawkins, Exciting Faith Alive Church, Officiating/Eulogist.  Interment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bertran Floyd Sampson, Jr. was born to the parentage of Rosemary Anderson and Bertran Sampson, Sr.  He was born on January 22, 1971, in Tampa, Florida.  He attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa. He accepted Christ at a young age and knew the importance of keeping God first in his life.

Bert was an amazing husband, an awesome father, and The World’s Best Grandfather!  He was naturally a comedian for there was never a dull moment when Bert was present.  He loved to sing songs and add his own lyrics while hitting all kinds of notes and stayed on point.  He was truly the life of every party!

Bert’s hobbies included fishing, watching horror movies, karate, and western television shows.  Also, everyone knows he loved football and was the #1 Buccaneers Fan!  On game days, he thoroughly enjoyed barbecuing for his family and friends and made the best burgers and ribs.

Bert began working at age 14 and held various jobs throughout his life.  He worked full-time at Waste Management for several years.  Then, he obtained employment at Griffin Waste Services, which is now Darling Ingredients, and he was there for 11 years until his demise.  Darling Ingredients staff was Bert’s second family.  He loved them and they loved him as well and referred to Bert as their #1 Driver in the Company! Bert touched so many lives; he was loved by many and will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his sweet baby girl, Jassmine Sampson; precious grandson, Chase Sampson; loving grandmothers, Marie Mingo and Louise Johnson and beloved brothers, Tony Sampson and Elijah Sampson.

Here to honor and cherish Bert’s memory is his loving and devoted Wife of 19 years, Mrs. Veleria Sampson.  They met in middle school and were together for 36 years.

Seven Children:  Bertran Sampson III, Courtney Sampson, Tarel Sampson, Troy Sampson, Kaneisha Sampson (Williams), Shanavahia Sampson (Stubbs) and Angel.

Eleven Grandchildren:  De’Asia, Jaylee, JaCorey, Ashanti, Peyton, McKenzie, Chloe, Taraji, Dontravion, De’Andre and Kehlani.

Parents:  Pastor James and Rosemary Anderson and Mr. Bertran and Vernama Sampson, Sr.

Two Brothers:  Bernard Sampson and Mario Sampson

Two Sisters:  Temetris (Roger) Cowards and Shaketha Sampson, Mothers-in-law:  Lula Warren, Detra Warren; Sisters-in-Law:  Yolanda Washington and Elizabeth Cannon; Several Brothers-in-law; Godson:  JaMarcus Cannon, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
