Bertrand J. "Bert" Bouchard
March 30, 1944 - November 21, 2025
Bertrand J. "Bert" Bouchard, 81, of Southington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, in New Britain, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Perillo) Bouchard. Born on March 30, 1944, in Eagle Lake, ME, Bert was the son of the late Leonide J. and Stella (Vaillancourt) Bouchard. A dedicated and hardworking businessman, Bert owned and operated Bouchard LP Gas and Bouchard Fuels for over 35 years, proudly serving his community with integrity and warmth. He made many lasting relationships and friendships. A true people-person, enjoying speaking to everyone he knew. His sense of humor will be sorely missed. Bert proudly served in the Air Force reserves for 6 years, honorably discharged as staff sergeant. Bert was a devoted parishioner of St. Dominic Church. He cherished time spent on the golf course at Hawk's Landing and took great pride in caring for his yard especially at Christmastime with an extensive holiday display. He was also an avid UConn basketball fan. Above all, he treasured his family and the many moments they shared together. Especially out by the pool, taking day trips, and spending time with his precious granddaughter, Olivia, with whom he shared a special bond as a proud "Papa". He cared for his neighbors as well, whom he enjoyed helping when needed. Bert was always available to lend a hand, no questions asked. He leaves behind his devastated family: his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Patricia; his devoted daughter, Danielle Bouchard, and her husband, Eduardo Teixeira of Southington, their daughter, Olivia Teixeira, Bert's beloved granddaughter; his son, Brian Bouchard of Florida, his wife, and daughters, Breanna and Jena Bouchard, of Florida. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Bouchard, and wife, Caren, of Prospect; his sister, Priscilla Dunn, of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gillian Bouchard and Kenneth Bouchard, and his sister, Beverly Jean Miller. Special thanks to Lexington Cardiology, and the medical team at HHC, especially nurses, Natalyia, Edwin, and aide, Paula. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6th, at 11 A.M. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, has been entrusted with the arrangements. For online condolences and directions, please visit
