Not sure what to say?

I really didn't know Beryl very well -- met her at a photography show in the Springs and purchased one of her photographs that she had taken in Paris in 1955. I would love to obtain other photgraphs or paintings by her as a rememberance of here artistry and vision.

Dear Beryl,

About 10-11 years ago, I met you a few times when you walked across the street to our home seeking to connect with us. I fell in love with you. You were friendly, kind and loving. Yet, life was too hectic and stressful and we lost touch. Last month, I finally moved to live across from you permanently. I hoped I would run into you and my little daughter would get to meet you and I would get to know you better. So, I looked for you. Alas, it is too late and I am so sad....

Beryl was first introduced to me 60 years ago by Evelyn Stoltman at one of her parties. I recognized her voice and infectious laugh....OMG it's Beryl Bernay.!!! So many memories about our art and travels over the years.

I met Beryl through her mother Sade who lived on West 71st Street when I was 7 years old in 1963 while accompanying my great grand uncle as we delivered the Chinese laundry.
My brother and I were invited to be on the television show “All Join Hands” a few times. I remember Beryl’s vibrancy and artistic talent as she drew about the featured country of the day.
Two years ago I relocated to N.Y. and thought of the show as I passed her mother’s neighborhood.I wanted to reconnect with...

A multi-faceted gem,
my aunt.
Shining bright from the heart,
the gut
coming from some place and time
where soul stuff and matter
are one and the same.
A keen mind,
a cornucopia of talent.

A star,
fading.
My aunt teaches me
we are all jewels,
the...

Beryl came into my life the summer of 2014 in East Hampton at a lunch arranged by her cousin. We connected immediately. After that we saw each other occasionally but it was only during the last year of Beryl's life that we truly bonded. And, that was because the unexpected and extraordinary circumstance in which I found myself, afforded me the freedom to spend more time with Beryl than did any of her family or friends. We realized we were soulmates and that we shared a love for art. We...

I only met Beryl twice, when I purchased one of her photographs from 1953, a photo of a street in Paris titled "Going Home"from an exhibition at Ashwagh Hall in the Springs and again when I picked up the photograph that she had framed for me near her apt in the West Village. I wish I had had the opportunity to discuss her life and her many experiences with her. May her spirit and passion continue on forever
