Not sure what to say?

Though Moya had already retied from teaching by the time I was a student at the UW SSW, she often stopped by our dept to speak, mentor, and share her experience as a social worker. Moya was one of the most compassionate and inspirational social workers I've had the pleasure and honor of knowing and learning from. I am thus grateful for the impression she made on me to always fight the good fight, to care and love and endeavor compassion, and to better contribute to the positive of the human...

To Moya's family, I wish to extend my deepest-felt condolences. I am a 1986 graduate of the MSW program at the Univ. of WA School of Social Work. My most favorite professor, bar none, was Moya Duplica. Why is that? She was a true teacher who instilled a love of learning in her students, demanded much of them, and gave much to them in return. She was such a poised and beautiful woman who might appear toff but was always easy to approach and had a great wit and wonderful sense of humor. I truly...

I am deeply saddened to hear of Moya's passing. My thoughts are with her family at this time. Moya was well educated, well travelled and always willing to assist others. Her dedication and parish involvement at Sacred Heart Church was paramount. What a beautiful lady..I miss you already...

Moya Duplica was a fantastic educator - she was intelligent, thoughtful, engaging, and encouraging. I took several classes from her in the early 1980's; she helped me get in to graduate school by writing a letter of recommendation. She always had a kind word and I feel very fortunate to have been a student of hers. My condolences to her family and friends.

I was Moya's student in the early 80's and never forgot her grace, friendly smile and pertinent feedback. Her support meant a lot and I am sad to hear of her passing. I've enjoyed reading the memories others have shared.

Moya was a wonderful person! I will always remember seeing her on Sundays at Sacred Heart Church, we enjoyed her beautiful smiles and warm hugs.

Moya you will be missed!

Moya was such a sweet lady! My sisters and I loved seeing her and her great smile at Sacred Heart Church on Sundays. We will miss her dearly! God Bless you Moya!

Moya was my host when I first visited the school seeking a faculty position. From the very beginning she made me feel welcome and valued. She had the warmest heart and the kindest smile. She lives on in our memories! David Hawkins

I have just now learned of Moya's passing, and regret missing her memorial service earlier today. Moya, my colleague of many years, was a gifted teacher and influenced generations of social work students with her wisdom, knowledge, class and grace. She will be missed, and remembered always as an exemplary professor and colleague.
