If goodness could be bottled, its main ingredient would be Bessie Holland. Loved by all, Bessie died on Tuesday, Oct. 14, of complications following a stroke. She was 86.

Bessie was born July 2, 1922, in Pilot Point, Texas, and although she left...

Not sure what to say?

Dear Momma, It's a year now since your passing to God the father and I'm sure your truly at peace in Heaven. I could not of ever ask for a better mother in this life. Uconditional, loving, caring, giving and teaching me the best way to be as your son. I love you and miss you dearly. I thank you for creating me with my loving father and your husband Jasper. Your son, Edwin Lee

Dear Momma,

You left us a year ago today, and we have thought of you and missed you every day since. We found this anonymous poem that reminded us so much of you. We offer it here in your honor and loving memory:

God saw her getting tired,
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around her,
And whispered,"Come With Me."
With tearful eyes
We watched her suffer,
And saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
We could...

A few of Buzz and Mollie's Recollections of Bessie Holland:

After the Association of Engineering Geologists (AEG) Portland meetings, Bessie asked us to stay at her house a few days. Here we could see her love of flowers and gardening, just as beautiful as she was. Her cookin' was not so bad either. She made the yummiest stews and desserts. Never ever complained once when Jasper and Buzz brought home the trophy salmon still floppin' around and making a mess of the kitchen. She just...

Our Grandma is affectionate,

With a heart of gold.

Selfless and so generous,

With a charitable soul.

Always teaching in a loving way,

Always way beyond compare.

Always listening and always there for us,

Showing that she cared.

Loving her grand-kids until the end of time,

That is our Grandma, forever mine.

Loved By,

Our Loving Thoughts and Prayers to Bessie and Jasper's Family.
We are so sorry that no one from our family can be with you and yours to celebrate the life of your sweet and remarkable Mother. We remember Bessie Lou as the most guileless and wonderfully unique person and feel priveleged to have had her as a friend and neighbor. We have many memories and delightful stories to cherish living over the fence from "The Hollands." God speed dear Bessie Lou. We all send warm Hugs and our Love...

GREAT MOMs ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU.

Two Gifts

I must tell you something
God placed within my view -
Were it not for Jesus,
I would not have met you.

I've been given two gifts;
A Special blessing, true.
First God gave me Jesus
And then He gave me you.

I seen this and i thought of you...Miss you lots

I knew Bessie only from a few short visits, but then it didn't need much to get to know her. She was love. Very simple, not complicated – just love. There really is no better way to say it. She radiated it. I will always remember her for her warm-hearted, accepting, loving attitude. Totally down to earth with this unexpected humour. She was an inspiration to me and I am happy that she had such a long and good life.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my Aunt Bessie and the condolences that I send today are from my heart and the Heart of Texas.Aunt Bessie is blessed by GOD and will forever be remembered.
