A month into my freshman year at JCSU, I discovered that my late aunt had also been Prof. Ledbetter's scholar at JCSmith as well as she and my mother among her pupils at our almer mater., WCHS. What a gifted and talented educator she was as well as a kind and gentle soul. She is sorely missed.

Professor Ledbetter was my instructor at Johnson C. Smith University in the early 2000s. She was stern but yet fair. One of her sayings in class was: "Time is of the essence." May she RIP and prayers to her family. God be with you.

Having attended and graduated from West Charlotte HS. It was an absolute pleasure and honor for me to have Mrs. Ledbetter to be my professor for my first college English class at JCSU. I was in the Upward Bound Program at the school. Mrs Ledexter really put time in with all of us, but especially us as young ladies. When my mother learned that she was my professor, I recall her saying she is a treasure. She will truly be missed. JCSU UB c/o '87
