I walked with Betsy on Everwalk from Boston to Cape Elizabeth Me in 2017. She was a delight and an inspiration to meet and participate in this Epic event. She has stood out in my memory since then. I didn't know the details of her inspiring career. I would have loved to talk more with her. She continues to shine.

I had the privilege of working with Betsy during the tumultuous period surrounding the establishment of the United States Department of Education. I'm proud to have been among them and to have come to call her a friend.
