Not sure what to say?

I can't believe it has been a year. Every time that I drive past where their bookstore used to be, I think of both Betsy and also Mike. She was always so friendly and easy to talk to. Even the first day that I met her, she made me feel like I had known her for many years. She had a way with putting people at ease, and had a great sense of humor. I feel extremely thankful, to have been able to call her my friend.

It certainly does not seem like a year has passed.

I am glad she is freed from pain and disease.

What a great lady she was.

Our condolences on the loss of your loved one, Betsy. From her obituary, I see how dear she was to so many. Surely she is resting peacefully in Heaven.

Michael, we were shocked and saddened to hear of Betsy's passing. We have fond memories of all the good times we shared with both of you and Rita and Sandy. All the holiday dinners, our trek to Niagara Falls for Rita's birthday and all the times we sat around the table just talking will keep her alive in our memories. May her memory be a blessing.

Rest in Peace, Dear friend

Michael,

My heart broke when we returned home and I heard your message about Betsy's passing. We just loved her, her wit, her kindness, and her ability to chat with everyone and always lend an ear. We had such fun chatting about restaurants, the best deals to be had everywhere, your grandkids, and everything in between. We miss those long conversations at the bookstore, and running into you guys in our favorite stores. She was beloved by our whole family, and we are keeping you in...

Michael,it saddens me to hear of Betsy's passing. It was always a highlight of my week to see you and her at the book store. It looks like I will have to wait for our next "crab" session.

When I think of Betsy, I think of sitting around the table at Rita & Sandy's - somehow we always migrated to the table, extending it and squeezing in enough chairs to accommodate everyone - and Betsy and Michael would arrive with hugs and kisses and stories for everyone. Then the celebration would begin. It didn't matter the occasion. We'd sit for hours, talking, sharing stories, catching up and reminiscing. Talking with Betsy might not have solved world problems but it always made my day...
