My deepest sympathy to the family. I met Betsy n her sister on their ancestral visit to Co Cork Ireland . Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

Betsy & Pete were some of the kindest people you could ever meet. And, Betsy, while small in stature was a force to be reckoned with. The animals (and other causes she championed) will be much poorer without her in their corner. Rest easy, Betsy, your work continues on!!!

Betsy will be dearly missed. My mom volunteered at several animal events with Betsy by her side. I believe it was through the Humane Society many years ago. Betsy was a monumental person in helping me get my first cat rescue fixed and immunized, back in 1991. It was a cat my son, Alexander, and I found in a recycle bin in Kentwood. It was always the standing joke in our household whenever the cats wanted food or we didn´t jump and do what they wanted immediately my mom would say "well we...

Betsy was my mentor and, most importantly, my friend. I consider it an honor to have known her and work with her. She was an innovator in the animal welfare world and greatly respected by the leaders of many national animal welfare organizations. It will be a long time before another Betsy comes along.

Betsy was a real champion for animals in Kent County. I'm sure many are waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. God Bless and Godspeed, Beri Bouwman Bek.
