Andrew Wyeth and Betsy Wyeth have been a part of our lives from 1963 when we first bought the print , "The Wood Stove." I grew up on Vinalhaven and had many of the experiences he captured in his artistic creations. Susie and I have visited the Olsen Farm many times to relive the paintings that Andrew created. I was very sad to learn of Betsy Wyeth's death. She was a remarkable woman. Betsy cared deeply for my Aunt Christina and Uncle Al and was also a good friend of my Dad's. As a little girl, I would sometimes find her on the edge of the Olson field near the river where she would be sifting through the dirt for "arrowheads".
