Not sure what to say?

To the Cooper Family - this is a much too tardy commentary for the loss of a truly superb lady. Mrs. Cooper had a powerful positive and lovely style. A "leader", a shining light and one who drew people to her. I had the goof fortune of working for then Lt. Col. Cooper while he commanded 1stBn 8th Marines. My wife Linda, who had just come to the States from the Philippines was immediately taken by Bettie, her kindness, personal styie and elegance. While we were deployed to the...

Betty was a good ftiend to evrryone. She will indeed be missed.

We had some great times through the early years of her antique business. I helped her set up her very first shop at the Antique Station in Dumfries on her first day!
How excited she was when you got the house over by Mt. Vernon very close to where my sister used to live!
You couldn’t help not to love her smile!
Take care,
Warmest regards,
Brian Tanguay

Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. May His love draw you close and give you peace.

We served with Betty in Japan and as usual she immediately on arrival emerged herself in the American and Japanese communities like she had been there all the time. The social load was heavy, both on the Japanese side as well as on the military and the State Department side, and she did it every so well. She will be missed by all she came across.

Bettie was a gift from God with a great attitude and exurbance for serving others. Patricia and Dan Bellay

Bettie, you epitomized grace. RIP.

I knew Bettye from years ago when her in laws, Matthew and Vera Cooper were our neighbors here in Lexington!
Her husband has been so good to keep in touch with us all these years! Sending lots of loving thoughts to all the family!
I’m so glad our daughter, Susan, sent me this link to read.
May God comfort all her sweet family!

Bettie and I grew up in the Hillcrest neighborhood in Lexington NC. Even as a young child , she had that leadership ability and we all looked up to her. She was indeed a very special person . You and the family have my sympathy. Martha Ellen Miller Smith
