I grew up feeling like Bettie was one of my sisters. She was always beautiful, full of life and always always took care of and stood by and up, for her sisters and brothers. She would not allow you to talk about any of them. Our families still are so close. I remember the railroad track in Holland and we walked the tracks daytime and nighttime, she would always make all the younger ones come in the house before it got to late. She would say Ruby C you go home and Killey and yall better...
