Not sure what to say?

Betty Canady was my 6th grade teacher at Redwood Heights in 1975. She was smart and funny and kind, and had little tolerance for foolishness. I loved her. She and my other favorite teacher, Joanne Grimm (who taught English at Bret Harte) were at an event together that I attended, and they were wearing the same pantsuit (it was the 70s, so very bright colors). I introduced them to each other, both of these teachers I loved, and watched them laugh and talk together. I hope they became...

I miss Betty's presence so much. Her laugh, the way she looked over her glasses at me when I said something crazy. She was genuinely caring and willing to help. She loved her family and was so proud of the accomplishments and strong families that her nieces and nephews had. I have a hope that she is back together with Molly and all the critters that she so fondly took care of. She definitely has a piece of my heart and soul. I love you Betty Jo!

Ms. Canady was my 5th and 6th grade teacher at Redwood Heights. We all loved her. She told us that she was " A tough old bird." She was strict but we knew that she loved us. I was sad to hear that she passed. I recall that a tree was planted in front of the school when she retired. I will always think about her when I drive past Redwood Heights and look at that tree. She was a class act and a gift to us all.

I was so sorry to hear of my cousin Betty's passing. She was a warm, loving person, as was her mother Phyllis. We were working together on Cooper et al family history. I loved her and share the grief of her passing.

Betty was one of the best in the world of education. She was an incredible teacher and mentor. My family is richer for having had her in our lives.
