Our sincere condolences. To all of those that knew her, Betty Cheever was a great mentor & best Mayor Downers Grove ever had. The Vogt Family

I started my career in local government in Downers, and had the honor of working closely with Mayor Betty Cheever. She cared so much for Downers Grove. My prayers surround her family.

My deepest condolences to the entire Cheever family- family of my youth. Betty was a force of nature, a fascinating woman and a role model for what we as women can achieve. I was proud to campaign for her - handing out pamphlets at the train station before school with Mary. And still get a laugh at her waking Mary up on Saturday mornings by vacuuming around her bed. Love to you all. Betsy

Betty was the best mom-in-law I could have ever asked for. She was smart, interesting and funny!! We had many long conversations when we visited eachother and I will miss that the most. She was loved by so many.

We send hugs and sincerest condolences to Lyle and the whole family. Betty was a great friend to the Wheelers.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
