Betty Jeanette Coleman was born March 19, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas to Corinne Hockley and Staton Hosey. Mrs. Coleman professed her faith in God at a very early age and she instilled that faith in her children. Mrs. Coleman departed this life on Monday, in the early hours on February 13, 2023.
Mrs. Coleman obtained her A.S. in Nursing from St. Phillips College, obtained her LVN License, and pursued a career in nursing. After working for many years as a Nurse, she'd begin her career with Texas Employment Commission until her retirement. Several years after her retirement, she volunteered at Southeast Baptist Hospital. She enjoyed volunteering and never met a stranger.
Mrs. Coleman was very creative often making various crafts for friends and family. She also enjoyed sewing and created her sewing patterns. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hosting teas as well as playing bid whist with friends and family. Mrs, Coleman loved traveling, as well as going on cruises. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. Her family would often joke about her making sure she had Snickers for her tackle box. She enjoyed working in the Children's ministry, enjoyed baking goodies for the children, and attending as well as hosting Bible studies in her home. Before her illness, Mrs. Coleman enjoyed playing dominos at the Senior Citizens Center.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her devoted husband, Mr. Reuben V. Coleman, children, Joe N.Tinnon, Jr, Monica A Ehrmann and son-in-law Philip Ehrmann, sister June Coleman, stepchildren, Reuben Coleman Jr, Andrea Coleman-Ezell, Sylvia Cook, grandchildren Alysia Tinnon, Shelita Tinnon and Demetrius Walker, and a host of other relatives and friends.
On Tuesday February 28th at Hillcrest Funeral Home there will be a viewing from 6 pm -7 and a informal memorial will be from 7 pm -8 pm. A memorial service will be Wednesday, March 1st at Hillcrest Funeral Home at 12 pm and she will be interred at Fort Sam Houston at 2:15 pm the same day.
