I worked for Betty as her secretary, and grew to love her very much. She had the respect of everyone she met. She was brilliant, and way ahead of her time. I saw many programs open up to people from all over the world, and those people grew to love her as well. These were her children. I know there is a special place in heaven for her. She will be sorely missed.

I worked for Betty as part of her executive administration staff for 5 years in the '80s. My condolences to the Gilmore family! Betty was a wonderful woman, full of energy and devoted in her mission to make the Peoria Diocese a better community. She has finally received her ultimate reward, being reunited with her beloved family! Heaven gained a "Guardian Angel" this past week! Bless you Betty!

I'm sorry I cannot attend Betty's funeral Mass because of prior commitments. The priests and people of the Diocese of Peoria are much indebted to Betty for all the work she did for Catholic Social Services and for the many persons she helped through the years.
