Betty Rae Hess Moffatt Betty Rae Hess Moffatt was given her dancing shoes at 4:15pm on September 18, 2010 in her home in Long Beach, CA. Betty was born January 12, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. Betty worked at Pacific Valves as a secretary during the 1950's. Betty is survived by her children, Glenda Rae Beeson, Gwendolyn Joyce Hall, Carol Ann Hull, Diane M. Huskey; and grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many friends. Close family and friends had gathered at Betty's home to witness the end to an extraordinarily rich and long life. Betty is predeceased by Carlton Hess and Clinton D. Moffatt. Betty possessed a remarkable capacity to make each person in her life feel unique and significant. A fact that is evident by the diverse group of friends who surrounded Betty throughout her eighty-eight years. Her passion for life and desire for adventure made those around her feel they could achieve anything and their lives were richer for just having known her. Even though Betty was small in frame - she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life - to dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt; sing like nobody's listening and live like it's heaven on earth. She loved to dance, swim, listen to music and watch old movies. Betty was an angel on earth as she is in heaven, her passing has left a hole in our hearts but the memories and lessons learned will live on through those she left behind. Viewing Wednesday, September 22 at 4pm to 7pm at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary, 5161 East Arbor Road, Long Beach, California 90808. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23 at 11am at Lakewood First United Methodist Church, 4300 Bellflower Boulevard; Lakewood, California 90713. Not sure what to say?

I will miss Grandma Betty tremendously. I had great conversations on the phone and tried to send her letters as often as I could. She was always so good about staying in touch. I wish that I had know about her passing so that I could have been there. I will treasure the photos I have along with the memories.
Love forever, Lauri H. Klenk, Heber City, UT
