BETTY MOLER Obituary

July 5, 1926 - April 26, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Betty Jean Moler, 87, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2014. She was born July 5, 1926, to Loraine and Carrol Golson in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Classen High School in 1944. After graduating from Skidmore College in Sarasota, New York, where she majored in drama, she married her high school sweetheart, John C. Moler, on December 22, 1949, at Westminster Presbyterian in OKC. They had one daughter, Carey Loraine. Betty Jean was active in the Junior League. Betty Jean and her husband lived in Philadelphia, PA; Darien, CT; and Ponte Vedra, FL; before returning to Oklahoma City in 2005. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed golf and traveling the world with her husband. Betty Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, John C. Moler; her daughter, Carey Moler Karlan, of Darien, CT; and five grandchildren, Malcom Moler Karlan and his wife Elizabeth, of Ridgefield, CT; Matthew Moler Karlan, of NYC; and triplets, Sarah Loraine, Hayley Claire and Graham Moler Karlan, also of NYC. The family is grateful for the loving care of her aides. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014.
