Not sure what to say?

I still miss Betty! She was very dear to me. We shared many memories of our day at Carraway Methodist Hospital, working in ICU. In later years we were friends on FB and phone calls. I loved her and will always miss her.

Betty was a dear friend. We worked together, laughed and cried. After years of being out of touch we reconnected on Facebook. Had many wonderful conversation. I was so saddened and shocked by her passing. We had telephone each other a few days before. Loved and miss her.

Y´all were our neighbors in Bessemer - right across the street from us on Pinedale Drive. Your mom was always so kind to us. So sorry for your loss. Prayers going up. Melody Carr Lanke

Betty was one of my best friends´ mom growing up (Jason) and she was worked often. I was sort of shy with "grownups" but it was clear she was highly intelligent as were her sons. She also was nonjudgmental and kind. She was very proud of her kids and grandson. On FB we became a sort of pen pals and she said the kindest things about me and my family and we talked about current events. Having lost my folks her warm words became a touching source of reassurance the last several years and she...

Betty would come to NYC a lot because both her sons lived there. She would usually stay with me since we were so close. When I was working in magazines, I would get us press passes to see shows. Betty loved Saturday Night Live -- and at the time (1999) -- was a huge fan of Cheri Oteri's. After the show was over we were looking for the way out. We went down a hallway towards open doors, only to see tons of people behind a rope screaming. We looked behind us and there was Cheri Oteri right...

I went to Nursing School with Bettye. She was an outstanding student and was loved by all. I would like to express my deepest condolences to her family.

Betty and I were FB friends in our later life. She and I worked together at CMMC. I loved her and prayed for her daily. My heart is broken. Anita Lake-Shaw

This is one of my favorite pictures of Betty, circa 1974, with our beloved dog Cassie. Betty and I adored Cassie.

She was my friend and such a good teacher. I learned so much from her as a new nurse. These latter years we loved talking cats and books.
