Not sure what to say?

I just saw the passing of Betty in the BW newsletter and I am sorry for her loss. Reading these entries only confirms the memories I have of this wonderful, caring woman I knew many years ago. My Great-Aunt Emmy was lucky to have Betty as her much-loved friend and companion to help her through her battle with cancer. We always had fun with Betty as she was youthful in spirit and body. I wish I had kept in touch with this kind, loving lady. My sympathies to all.

Auntie Betty made people feel special. As her nephew, she spoiled me on my birthdays and Christmas. Her gifts were always so well thought out and carefully shopped for. I still have a jacket she specially ordered to fit my long arms. I think of her every time I wear it, and I wear it often. My wife and daughters have repaired it multiple times over the years because of the great memories associated with that jacket.

The biggest gift she gave me was her time and love. When Auntie...

Auntie Betty was a kind and generous woman who never seemed to grow old - probably due to her fun-loving personality. In fact, she's the main reason I decided to be called "Auntie" by my nieces and nephew. Growing up I loved to listen to all her stories, especially the one about how she'd wiggle her ears in school to set her classmates off giggling. They'd get in trouble, but her teacher could never quite catch her in the act. We're definitely going to miss her! P.S. To this day, no...

I had the privilege of having Betty as a neighbor and framily (a friend that became family) for 11+ years. At the time my husband and I were late 20 somethings that were just starting out and Betty introduced herself and offered to let us use her lawnmower. We were blown away by her generosity and from that point on we were fast friends with her. You wanted to help Betty, she was just inherently good and you wanted to do good by knowing her. She seen the joy in things people would consider...

I first met Betty at her aunt Virginia Dowling Root´s funeral. The deceased was my grandmother and so it was a sad occasion in my young life. I honestly don´t remember what she said to me, I remember that she was sweet and funny and I wondered why I hadn´t seen more of this wonderful relative sooner. I met her again and again at family functions, usually funerals. She was like a drink of cool water on a hot day. Refreshing and honest and delightful.

Betty was such a sweet soul. She will be sadly missed by those that knew her. Our deepest sympathies and prayers. Rest In Peace Betty.
