Betty Irene Walker, 79, of Venice, FL formerly of Harrisburg, PA passed away August 8, 2014. Betty was born January 18, 1935 Harrisburg, PA.
Services will be held for Betty on August 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church located on Palm Avenue in
Nokomis. Betty is survived by her sons Larry (Lisa), David (Teri) and Bryan (Monica); and three grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Ruth McClain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Venice Nokomis United Methodist Church.

Betty was a loyal friend and volunteer for so many organizations in Venice. She was one of the first volunteers i met at the Venice Archives ( now Venice Museum and Archives). I could always count on her for mailings for the Venice Area Historical Society ( VAHS), and I know that she was a dedicated docent for many years at the Historic Train Depot. I am so sorry for your loss. We shared many happy times in Harrisburg before Betty moved to Florida. She was always a sweet, funny friend. She loved her boys and was very proud of them! May you be at peace , Betty my friend.
