Not sure what to say?

Dear Laura and Allison,
I am writing for my mother, Alice de Rotaeche, a dear friend of Bettye, whose eyes do not permit her to write any longer.
My mother and Bettye became friends taking French classes many years ago at the Alliance Francaise. Bettye was such a kind friend to my mother especially after my father passed. Bettye would often take my mother grocery shopping when I was unable to. More than that they shared a friendship filled with discussions of travel, family...

I knew Bettye through Osher Lifelong Learning (OLLI/WUSTL). She and I met in a Literature class and she suggested we facilitate a class on African American Literature. Lifelong neighbor and close family friend- her intelligence and passion for French and Jane Austin influenced my middle school reading and exposure to French cinema at the St . Louis Art Museum (I was my mom´s plus one when Bettye wasn´t available is my guess). In my yearly...
