My mom, Clara Marie Allen (CM), was a friend of Bettye's through the garden club. She often mentioned Bettye and the various projects they were involved in for the club, such as the auction fundraisers and shows. One Christmas, my mom gave each of her 4 kids a copy of the club cookbook, "A Taste of California", 1987.
