Beverley Faye Small passed away peacefully on May 13th 2019. She was born July 27, 1930 in Passaic, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Adalbert and Bertha Prior. Beverley graduated from Ridgewood, NJ High School in 1948 and attended Colby College in Waterville, ME. She received further education from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston MA. Beverley was employed as the secretary to the tax counsel in the law department of Mass Mutual. She also worked in various capacities for Architects of Packaging, which was the company that she and her husband, Donald started in 1971. Beverley enjoyed volunteering her time and served as the president of the Junior Ramapogue Women’s Club. She served as president of the Tatham School PTO. She was a former trustee of the West Springfield Boys and Girls Club as well as a Church Clerk and Cabinet Secretary for the Congregational Church of West Springfield where she had been a member since 1952. Bev loved sports of all kinds and enjoyed participating in and watching them as often as she could. She was an avid candlepin bowler, winning team and individual trophies as well as enjoyed golf and tennis. She was a diehard Los Angeles (Brooklyn) Dodger fan and New York Giants fan. Bev also enjoyed reading and was never without a book. After developing a sight problem, she enjoyed talking books and would listen to them for hours. Beverley is predeceased by her husband Donald I. Small who died in 2009. She is survived by two sons. Richard with his wife Christine and their two sons, Ryan and Cory; and David and his two sons, Hayden and Garrett and their mother Georgianne. Visiting hours will be on May 28th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Curran-Jones Funeral Home at 109 Main St. West Springfield MA. After visiting hours, a memorial service will be held at the funeral home followed by a family only burial.
