Beverly Best Authier

Granby – Beverly A. (Best) Authier, 78, passed peacefully at the home of her daughter surrounded by loved ones. Bev was born in Holyoke the daughter of the late James Howard and Juanita (Simons) Best. She grew up in South Hadley and lived in Granby for the past 47 years. A Cosmetologist, Bev was the owner/operator of the “Best Little Hair House” in Granby. A former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, she was a longtime congregant, deaconess, and volunteer at the Church of Christ in Granby and a member of the Red Hats. She leaves her husband Paul R. Authier, daughter Lori A. Southerland Dauphin and her husband Gary of Somers, grandchildren Trent and Talia Dauphin, and sister Linda Delone Best of South Hadley. Besides her parents, Bev was predeceased by her older sister Sandy Fullen. She was Nana Bev to the children of her niece Pamela Morrison and nephews Jason and Michael Fullen. Bev cared deeply about everyone in her life and would open her home, business, and heart to anyone. Her smile was infectious and her loving nature brought joy to her family, friends, neighbors, and clients. She’ll be remembered for her acts of kindness and giving spirit. Her greatest joy was being a Mom to Lori and Nana to Trent and Talia. She delighted in hosting picnics and pool parties for relatives and friends. Her life was filled with beach trips to Cape Cod, Avalon, and Maine and Florida with her family, ski trips with her sister Linda. She delighted in frequent trips to New York City to visit museums, attend plays and take in the view at the Rainbow Room. Bev also enjoyed spending time at home with Paul playing dominos, loving her dog Nita, planting in the yard, and watching movies. Bev was a social butterfly and would cherish her time playing cards with friends and getting together for lunches. Bev will be loved and remembered by those whose lives she touched.
