Beverly Banks' impact on my life was reflected in the way I taught language arts for many years. Her soft-spoken manner belied the fierceness and conviction she felt about the importance of reading and the written word. The memory of her and the good times we had at their river home will live long in my heart.

Bev Banks was perhaps the most gracious, intelligent, and kind person I have ever met. Meeting her through the Kern Eastern Sierra Writing Project with Ernie Banks, and later as our fearless leader of Kern River Writers, the memory of this dear lady will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know and learn from her.
She loved you all dearly as she spoke of you often (especially Larissa)and shared photos at our monthly gatherings.
