Beverly Boiwka (née Stick), 80, fell asleep in the Lord Friday, February 13, 2026, at home after a long illness. She was born September 28, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio to Arthur and Mabel Stick (née Hazen).
After graduating from Oberlin Business College, Beverly went to work as a secretary at US Steel. After her son was born, she took an early retirement and focused on raising her children, Michael and Larissa, and keeping the family home. Beverly embodied her Christian beliefs fully and faithfully. She was an active member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Lorain. Beverly was a deeply kind woman, a great friend to many, and a wonderful mother and wife.
Beverly was also an accomplished artist in the art form of Pysanky, Ukrainian eggs. She created these intricate dyed and wax resist artworks and sold them at many galleries and exhibited them at the Ohio State House and the White House in Washington DC. She was also an avid crocheter and enjoyed many other crafts.
She loved traveling the world and had a deep curiosity for learning about other cultures and instilled this love of culture and art in her children as well. She often spoke fondly of her times traveling with her girlfriends and had many funny stories about her adventures in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Italy, Portugal, France, Spain, and several Scandinavian countries.
Words cannot express how profoundly she will be missed by her husband of 53 years, Stephan, and her children Michael and Larissa.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 3pm to 7pm in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Funeral service will be 10 am at the funeral home. Father Dmitri Belenki, Pastor of Saint Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Brownhelm Township Cemetery.
Her family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2304 East 34th Sreet, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
