Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Beverly Byrne. She opened my eyes to journalism at Groveton high in the late 70´s. Because of her influence, I went on to have a successful career in news and later teaching journalism at Georgetown and ASU. I still use some of the exact same methods and lessons Mrs Byrne taught me with my own students decades later. Your influence lives on. Thank you for everything Mrs Bryne. I am sorry I didn´t thank you in person.

Beverly Byrne was a wonderful English teacher at Groveton High School when I was a student there. I had the honor of substitute teaching for her after college and learned so much about teaching from her. She had a terrific personality. I was lucky enough to read the essay that she wrote on Eudora Welty. I am a Eudora Welty scholar and I was so impressed by her insights. She was one of a kind and she will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Byrne was my English teacher at Groveton High School in the 70s. She was so positive and fun to be around. She was a great teacher. I am just one of many, many students that can look back on the impact she had in our lives. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know her and learn from her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
