Beverly Brown Goree

02/28/1936 - 10/30/2025

Beverly Louise Brown Goree, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on February 28, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia to Mildred Virginia (Chesnutt) Brown and Paul Howard Brown. Beverly grew up in Orlando, Florida with her parents and younger sister.
Beverly attended Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, and later graduated from the University of Alabama, where she had already met the love of her life during her studies. She shared a beautiful union of over 67 years with her husband, Paul Ford Goree Jr. Their steadfast love and lifetime commitment were evident to all who met them, and in their three children, Paul "Skip" Goree (Lynnette), GiGi Sellers (Bruce) and Alan Goree (Roger Bischoff).
Beverly served for over 22 years as an Air Force Officer's wife, and during that time she and Paul relocated their family and established their home more than thirteen times all over the country. She spent more than 10 years teaching Aerobic dance classes, and over 17 more years as a bookkeeper for the Fairfax Racquet club in Fairfax, Virginia. Lake Toxaway, North Carolina became her favorite retreat.
Nothing brought Beverly more joy than time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Beverly and Paul were blessed with 10 grandchildren: Conor Goree (Kerry), Caroline Goree, Olivia Goree, Preston Sellers, Elise Goree, Gillian Goree, Brett Sellers, Chase Goree, Cole Goree, and Nicole Sellers, as well as two great grandchildren: Hallie Goree and Harrison Goree.
Known for her caring nature, commitment to friends, generosity, and engaging personality, Beverly cultivated a wide circle of friends throughout her life; she built strong relationships and remained close with countless many for decades. Everyone deserves a friendship as strong as those Beverly built; she was a proud, gracious, friendly, loving southern girl to all that knew her.
Beverly is preceded in death by her eldest son Skip, and she is survived by her husband Paul, sister and brother-in-law Ginger and Harry Lochner, her sister-in-law Priscilla Burns, as well as two children, all of her children's spouses, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Beverly found strength through her continued faith as a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Annandale, Virginia.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be held at 11 a.m. on November 28 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Virginia 22003.

Beverly and Paul will be interred together at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a future date.
