Erin and family, Your mother was such a beautiful woman who had the kindest heart. Even though she was a community leader, one I deeply respected, she had this way of making others feel seen and special, simply by being in her presence. I was truly saddened for you to learn of her recent passing, especially since you were so incredibly close. Praying for peace and grace for you and your family. My deepest sympathy!

Bev and I worked together at Whittier in the 1980's. She was the third grade teacher in the Arts Magnet School. She was a very special lady and an excellent teacher. Her humor was infectious and so was her smile. I am sure that she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Rest in Peace dear Beverly.

Beverly was a trailblazer. On my desk I have a picture of she and I with Senator Howard Metzenbaum. We were whispering together conspiratorial all with big grins on our faces - that´s how I remember, with a wry word and giggle. You will miss her but she left behind a life well lived - and loved!

As a young girl, maybe 10-11 years old, Mrs. McCoy asked me to help her do some work with the Allen County Democratic Party, (stuff envelopes, etc.) and I have never forgotten that day! She was also my 5th grade teacher and I have never forgotten that year! I use to spend time at her home and help in her yard and around the house. She was a huge part of my childhood and I am so thankful to have come in contact with Mrs. Beverly McCoy. Mrs. McCoy, absolutely fulfilled her purpose here on...

With deepest sympathy to the family. I met Bev when I was hired for my first teaching position. She was a mentor and friend. I admired her easy going nature not matter what was happening. Nothing ruffled her. I wanted to be like her. She was the sweetest lady and helped guide me. She and Malcolm were the best!
