Beverly Jayne Orwig, 73, of Clearfield died on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. She was born on July 14, 1936 in Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine M. (Hovan) Ramish. Mrs. Orwig was employed by the Helmbold & Stewart Group, Clearfield as an insurance agent, retiring after 20 years of employment. She also worked as a secretary in the Department of Agriculture at Penn State University, State College for 10 years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club. She is survived by her husband, Gary Orwig, whom she wed December 19, 1958 in Bellefonte; a daughter, Lisa B. Orwig of Dallas, TX; a brother and a sister, Philip Ramish and his wife, Mary Jane, of Bellefonte and Betty Ann Dodge and her husband, David, of VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Ramish. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1:30 PM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield. Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 12:30-1 PM. At the funeral home on Tuesday, a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 1:45 PM and the Rosary will be said at 5:45 PM. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association of Northwest Pennsylvania, 352 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16502 or to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.
