Not sure what to say?

Dear Ann, Ky, Lyn, Lee, and Kate, I inherited many books from a dear friend for whom I had power-of-attorney. She was an elementary school teacher with a love for American history. Among her books was a Time-Life series, "The Old West." I just finished reading the one called "The Trailblazers," and found it to be a page-turner: it was written in a way that made me feel I was sitting around a campfire with the author, who spun me a unique picture of these men that was well beyond what...

Bil and I were school mates at Georgetown. We both were editors of the Foreign Service Scool magazine, the "Envoy." He visited me years later in Brownsville, Texas on his way to southern Mexico to do research work on mice for the National Geografic Society. I recall the many hours I enjoyed talking with him and sharing stories of our adventures. RIP Bil.

After many years of reading Bil's articles and books, I quite by chance came across his obituary. He was a favorite of mine. His stories become more precious because of his passing. I extend my condolences to his family and friends. posted from Port Huron, Michigan

I was a very young teacher at Fairfield High School when I met Bil Gilbert. I was very intimidated by him ( I was a very young teacher) but when I met him I found he was very easy to talk to, very interested in what I said, and not really intimidating at all. He also was the father of some of the nicest kids in school. My deepest sympathy to his family .

I remember Bil as very bright and delightful in his high school years and he seemed destined for the fine and active life he enjoyed. My sympathy to his family and friends.
