I worked with Bill for many years at the State of Oregon Construction Contractors Board. Bill was a gifted lawyer and relentless advocate for the rule of law, fairness, justice, and the people of Oregon.

Bill was one of residents at our retirement community, I had the pleasure to take care of bill the last few months of his life. I didn't get as much time with him as I would have hoped. He was always a joy to be with, enthusiastic, always making jokes with his caregivers. Was a joy to be around. He will be missed by all.

I had the distinct pleasure of working closely with Bill Boyd as the founders of the " backstage beverage" service at Portland Opera over 30 years ago! He was so hard-working, funny, and reliable. Through many long hours of talking while serving (waiting to get on stage) as supernumeraries(he was a cardinal and I was a penitent in Don Carlo) in operas and organizing the beverage service, we learned that we spent the summer of 1963 at the same officers club swimming pool in San Antonio, TX!
