Not sure what to say?

Bill was not only among the best athletes I have ever covered, but was among the classiest people. Just a wonderful guy!

Very late condolences to the Green family. I completed with Bill during the H.Sdays , good man

Bill, you would be so proud of your family. I recently visited your mother, Loretta, my former co-worker and much-respected friend of more than 40 years. She is truly remarkable, just as you always were.

Bill's mother Loretta will always be a treasured friend. I was very touched when she showed me "Bill's Bench" at the old Cubberley High School field, where Bill got his start as a truly world-class runner -- and a world-class man.

Childhood memories of growing up together in Rochester are still vivid and precious and that time together shaped my life in many important ways. To Bill, Loretta, Rod, Lisa and Nicole, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I pray that God's loving arms surround you all as you celebrate the life, laughter and tears of Bill. May the memories fill your heart will joy.

Bill, I remember you as a nice, kind and gentle person. I will never forget your speed on the football field nor will I forget your smile and laughter.

To the Green family, I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am unspeakably sorry for your loss and hope that we can all still look back with warmth and look ahead with confidence and peace.

My love and prayers go out to all of you as you move through this difficult time. Much love, Janet
