Not sure what to say?

We remember Bill as a gifted friend who always had a joke- sent you gifts like a rooster clock set to go off at 6:00 am our time that could not be turned off. I think we may have run over it with the car finally because you could hear it all over the house. He loved his family and he loved life. He was our friend along with Shirley. Our love to all the family

I played football with Bill at Salem (Ill) Community HIgh School. Our 1946 football team is recognized as the greatest all-time team of the high school, I played right guard on offense. Bill was a great half-back. There are not many of us left who played on this ourstanding team with Bill.

Bill was a highschool friend from the 40s in Salem Illinois. He was a great guy and one heck of a football player. We went off to Grinnel College together where he ran thru the varsity football line on the 1st play of practice. Saw him in Salem at a class reunion a couple of years back.

I remember a very vibrant young man who had made it big and took many of Shirley's Athens friends to the Kings club for a renunion luncheon. We all appreciated it so much

David, Laura and Mrs. Hooks,
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. I remember fondly getting to go down to his office sometimes and also him taking us to the Track at the High School and then on to 7/11 for Slurpees. I hope y'all are well....you are in my prayers.

Dear Laura and family,
I was looking at the obituraries online and saw your dad's name. I haven't seen him in about 35 years, but remember him being lots of fun. His obituary suited him. I just wanted to send my condolences.
Sidenote- I named both of my daughters after my best friends and I have a daughter named Laura.
