I was so sorry to see Bill's name in the Oregonian Obituaries! I first met Bill as a freshman student at Willamette University in 1963. We both lived in Baxter Hall on the second floor. We must have studied occasionally, because we got through that first term, but I recall playing a lot of cards, mostly Hearts and several kinds of "penny ante" Poker. We had a GREAT time! Bill was a true friend of mine for over 40 years. We played hard in our single days and worked together in our later years.
