Not sure what to say?

Bill has been my friend and mentor ever since I got involved with US Swimming some 20 years ago. I'll miss the fairness, humor, knowledge and friendship he exhibited in his dealings with everyone. USA Swimming has lost a great proponent, but I've lost a great friend. My condolences go to his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he spoke of constantly. He was a good man. I always try to find good in the things that happen in life. The only good I can find in losing Bill is that we...

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Bill's family. May you be comforted in knowing that he has been a strong positive influence on more lives that you can imagine. I am happy to say he was my friend and mentor. I will always remember the lessons he taught and the example he led. Bill's impact, his spirit, his legacy lives...forever.

Bill was the first adult I can remember who asked me to call him by his first name. I chose to call him "Uncle Bill" instead - it still gave him a title and expressed how special he was to me, even at a young age. I will miss him and remember many fond swimming years with him and his family.

When I first came to Lewisville 20 years ago, Bill was one of the people who welcomed me and my family into the swimming community.

My thoughts and prayers go to Katie and the rest of the Nixon family. A great man has passed.

Bill was always there for everyone. He always had the best interest of each swimmer, as well as the sport of swimming, at heart. He will be sorely missed by his friends as well as by all swimmers and officials, from the local level to the national level.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nixon family. We had known him only through swimming, but he was such a delight to be around during the swim meets and very helpful during the stress of official time keeping at meets. He will be greatly missed in the swimming community. Homer, Shelley, Adam, Spenser and Erin Guilliams

My condolences to the entire Nixon family. I was shocked when told of his passing. I think back of all the good times Bill and the rest of the swim officicals used to have. I hope you will think of all the good times you also had with Bill and rely upon those memories for support during these trying times and in the future
