Not sure what to say?

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Bill over the past years at Cummington Fair and enjoying breakfast almost every Saturday with our multiple friends. Jeff and I enjoyed everyone with his great stories and adventures. RIP Karen Rida

Bill gave so much of himself to Ashfield, to Franklin County, and to the world- especially those he touched with his warmth and caring, and his incisive and infectious sense of humor. I miss him already, and the world is a sadder place for all of us without him in our midst. My heart goes out to you, Trish, with my condolences.

Bill, the man that added so much to my life. We had quite the adventures while we both worked for the Town of Ashfield. Sometimes in agreement and sometimes not. Bill mentored me during these times and always gave a friendly reminder that just because we don't agree doesn't mean we don't respect each other. We lost touch after I resigned but everyone once in a while our paths would cross and he would give his great smile and chat for a few minutes. Bill gave so much to so many. ...

Bill centered his later life around becoming a part of the SNCC Freedom Singers. Even when in great pain, due to his illness, he wanted to continue performing with and supporting the group. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Very few people in West County have contributed more to our communities than Bill, the epitome of a good citizen. He will be sorely missed.

I didn´t know Bill but I wish I did. Condolences for his family.

Bill, you were wonderful a person, and proud to be a SNCC Freedom Singer. As we traveled from Albany, Ga. I looked forward to him meeting us in Selma every year to sing for the Jubilee. After singing, we would all go to Mr. Waffle and eat a meal, Bill and I would have some awesome conversations about his community work and his wife's teaching activities. As your fellow Freedom Singer trying to hold up the banner, Emerson and I miss you. This 2026 Selma Jubilee is not the same without you....

I remember Bill from his days serving on the FRCOG's council but also a special memory of a time when I called Ashfield's emergency response team because my daughter had lost consciousness. I was never so afraid. Bill lived on the other side of town but arrived first, took charge, and with his ample head of white hair, I thought for sure an angel had arrived. He was a good guy.
