Not sure what to say?

Not only was Coach Waters one of the best teachers I ever had, but he also was a teacher who loved and cared about his students (I got sick once in his class, and he gave me a lecture about why girls shouldn't continually be on a diet, but just be happy for whatever size they are!) He was the best!

I knew and worked with coach for many years and we shared many thoughts about life and he was so full of life. I will miss our conversations about Oklahoma and the stories he told of the Indians. Coach you will really be missed by so many people whose lives you have touched. God Bless and rest in peace.

Coach Walters was a great man. RIP Coach.

Hi I didn't know Billy very long, but I am deeply saddened by his death. He was always so sweet to me and I was always glad to see him, I work at Legend oaks in the Laundry and I know Billy was a wonderful dad because his lovely daughters were always there for him. Rest in Peace, Billy, you are very missed xoxox and to the family, my deepest condolences I hope you are comforted in the knowledge that he is home :)

When I offociated his games, I found him to be a fine coach, a good example and a man of integrity. I am honored to have known him. He touched many lives, and I'm thankful to be one of his friends.

Sometimes you hear of someone from your home town passing on and you know , that a piece of history is gone. Coach Waters was that to Gladewater, Tx and so much more. Truely a wonderful person.

Coach Waters was a naturally gifted and inspiring teacher and coach. I still remember so many of his stories. I think my favorite was the one about little old ladies acosting him on the street and chiding him for not joining up in WWII. He WAS a BIG guy and probably looked alot older -- but he was too young to join. Of course, he did join up as soon as he was able. Got sent to Germany, where one day he just happened to wander into the Nuremberg trials!

Like to say to the Waters Family, we thank God for Coach in our Life my sister Lynda Henson Class of 1972 and Donald Henson 1974 and Larry Henson 1975.

Coach Waters was the best history teacher that I ever had, but he taught so much more. I recall a basketball player asking if he could turn an assignment in late because there was a really big game coming up. Coach replied, "You should turn your paper in early because you have the privilge of representing Gladewater High School on the court." You were a class act,
