I met Bill at Indiana University in Bloomington where we were both political activists. I then moved to New York City after Bill had already moved there. We continued our activism together there. And then we spent time together in Paris, where Bill introduced me to his French comrades. Bill was always so kind and warm to me in our friendship, perhaps more than anyone else I have ever known. Recently we spent time together on a zoom call, and that special connection was still there, after all...
