Not sure what to say?

Billie was at first a neighbor, but soon became a friend. Our daughter, Brenda, and her daughter, Kim had good childhood moments together. Billie was always upbeat and brightened many a day.

How could I ever forget Billie, a friend and across the fence neighbor in Pleasanton for years! She was always cheerful and had a contagiouis upbeat smile and chuckle. She would do almost anything for you.

I met Billie after I married her "bak to back" neighbor, Bill, in 1974. Ialways enjoyed her easy sense of humor. I know she made a "wicked" banana pudding! (I tried several recipes for a grown grandson a couple of months ago, and he loved them..but I'd like to have Billies recipe!) I'm sure she was a wonderful nurse..patients needed a nurse with a smile and a good sense of humor..and that was Billie!

Dear Kimberly,

I was so sorry to read in the Charlotte Observer about the death of your Mom, Billie. She and I lived beside each other on Commonwealth Avenue in Charlotte during World War II. She was my very best playmate, and we played with our dolls a lot. During the big Polio epidemic in 1944, all children were quarantined in their own yards for the summer, so Billie and I played with our dolls through the fence! Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I met Billie in 1971 at Laurel Grove Hospital. My first job as a new nurse graduate. Billie taught me how to put my schooling into practice. She was an important professional role model who also became a loyal friend.

Kim---Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Billie will be missed by many..Jeanie

Aunt Billie,

You were one of the sweetest, warmest members of our family. When we had the family reunion at yours and Uncle Homer's home, you were a graceous host and made everyone feel welcome. We love you and will miss you. Mason Daniel, Jr.

Uncle Homer & Aunt Billie - Peace be with you!!

Aunt Billie - we will miss you. But I know that you and Uncle Homer are together again. We will always love and miss you.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and forever. Love you.. Nancy

Billie and I were first cousins, she was 8 years my senior. When my Dad would take us to Mint Hill she always took my sister Jean and I under her wing and took us around to see the sights. Sometimes it was to get us away from her brothers who called us "yankies" and made fun of the way we talked all in good fun. Mostly what I remember about Billie was how she made us laugh. She was special..
