Billie Herzog Marx

Dear Gary and Doug and family,

I was so happy I had a chance to speak with Billie on her 90th Birthday.

We lived across from her on Stewart Street for about nine years. She was always kind and generous to us. (Especially when it came to my children including knocking on her door for school and scouts fundraisers.)

We had a family tradition of creating a book of letters that would mark the importance of the 13th birthday for our children. Billie wrote letters for Rachel,...

Billie! What a good time we had on Stewart Street--in new houses, with kids in every household--no kindergarten so we kept an eye out for each other. Billie and I learned to tap dance--good exercise--and actually performed at the Vets
hospital. All our children benefitted from free outdoor play.
I miss Billie.

Hello Doug, Gary, and family. Sad to hear about Billie. The Herzog family and mine were very close friends when we were all young once upon a time. Sister June and I were classmates all through school, and Mother Bertha's mother was my own Godmother. Billie came from a wonderful warm and affectionate family background, and brought so much of it to her own.

Gary and Doug, sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember her fondly from our days growing up in Garden Home.

Billie was one of the awesome ones! So enjoyed our last visit.
