Billie Jean Simmons Smith, 87, of Branch, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Ratcliff. She was born July 27, 1927 in Peter Pender Community to Clifton R. Simmons and Christine M. Erman Simmons. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a homemaker and artist and she was a loving daughter, sister and mother and was known for her unending kindness. She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelius R. Smith, son Stanley C. Smith, brother Joseph Ray Simmons and sister Patricia Ruth Gray. Rosary will be Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Smith Mortuary Chapel with visitation to follow. Funeral mass will be said by her grandson Fr. Joshua Stengel at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ratcliff with interment at 2:00 p.m. at US National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. She is survived by three daughters Phyllis J. Oldridge, Branch; Patricia A. Stengel, Ratcliff; Jeanne M. Ramsey, Rudy; two sons James R. Smith, Barling; Donald E. Smith, Cecil; four sisters Mary Joanne Louttit of North Carolina; Betty Inez Harrison, Charleston; Rebecca Corene Hogan, CO; Marietta Lorene Miller, WI; two brothers Richard Clifton and Robert Wayne Simmons both of Fort Smith; Fourteen grandchildren; Twenty-Five Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. Pall Bearers will be grandsons, Ryan Oldridge, Carl Stengel, Matt Stengel, Adam Stengel, Nicholas Ramsey, Jordan Ramsey, Sean Smith and Jonathan Smith.
