Billy Fred Blakemore

I played and coached against Billy Fred when he played for the Houston SWBT/ATT Accounting team. Teams I played with in San Antonio, St. Louis, Austin, and Oklahoma City never had much luck against Houston, but we played many times in the various Company tournaments, and Billy Fred was a fixture on those teams. I knew him as worthy opponent and a nice guy. It was good to learn so much more about him through his obituary. Texas Softball Hall of Fame - WOW!

BILL WAS A GREAT GUY.EXCELLENT SOFTBALL PLAYER.BILL SENT ME A LETTER AFTER MY MOTHER PASSED SAYING WE HAD SIMILAR BACKGROUNDS REGARDING HOW OUR MOTHERS WORKED ON THE FARM WHILE ATTENDING TO THE FAMILY.THOUGHTFUL OF HIM AND VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.RIP

I have known Bill and melodie blakemore for many years. I also knew his son Brad and his wife Tammy for many years. Bill had an incredible heart and was so loving. His wife Melodie was my youth leader when I was a teenager. The two of them were a blessing in my life. They knew about my home life during my teen years and Bill would always check on me constantly just like his wife did. Bill and his wife made a great impact on my life. He will truly be missed!
