Billy Norman Dixon, 86, husband of the late Carolyn Jean Waugh Dixon, passed away October 15, 2025 at his home in Lawrenceburg. Born in Harlan County, KY on September 15, 1939, Bill was the son of the late Enoch Dixon and Dora Chandler Dixon.
Following service to his country in the U.S. Navy, Bill work most of his life in insurance and finance. A member and deacon emeritus of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Bill served as the church treasurer and Mt. Vernon Cemetery treasurer for numerous years. He was also a former member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club and Anderson Masonic Lodge #90.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his daughter, Mariena “Jodie” Oates of Frankfort; a grandson, Franklin Beasley of Frankfort; a sister, Jackie Reid (Jack) of Indiana; and a brother, Robert Dixon of Connecticut. Along with his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Paul David Dixon.
According to Bill’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, 9780 Waddy Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342. Bro. Josh Rucker will officiate.
Memorials in memory of Billy Dixon are suggested to Mt. Vernon Cemetery Fund.
