JONES Billy Harold Jones July 21, 1934-June 28, 2008. Billy loved vanilla ice cream. He was real and he loved real people. He could spot a phony a mile away. He was disarmingly truthful (no pun intended), even when it hurt. Both of his parents were one of twelve siblings and his cousins outnumber...

Not sure what to say?

Susan, Chris, Amy, Matt, and Janice, my thoughts and prayers are of you now as you adjust to life without Billy Harold. What a wonderful person he was and what a wonderful legacy he has left in all of you. I find it hard to even think of our Reunions without his kidding and laughter. He loved the Shields family so much and was such a fine example for us all. He was loved and he will be missed. I feel so privileged to have been born a cousin to Billy Harold Jones. God hold and keep all of you...

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Friends of many years,
What can you say about a man that was/is truly loved by all. Bill just had a special way with people that warmed their hearts and made them feel as if they were the only people in the room/store. Chris I want you to know that your Dad called me from Houston and he...

I am very saddened to hear that Billy has left us for awhile. He was my first "older man" crush. He was a college grad and I was in grade school! What kid wouldn't love a man that told jokes and played pranks? He is one of the few I know that knew how fortunate he was: many friends, even more family, great children and the love of his life by his side. We will miss you Billy. Tears for now with laughter to follow...

I did not know Billy and never heard of him....but I wish I had. Sounds like a good one is gone.

Keep it real in the great hereafter, Billy!

I didn't know Bill Jones, but wish I had! What a wonderful tribute to a full life. My sympathies to your family for the large void he leaves.

Susan - the Jones family was my first introduction to Destin and I couldn't have asked for better friends. Billy was a special person and will be missed by so many. You, Chris, Amy, and Matt will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you all.

I am among those who never knew Mr. Jones, but I wish I did. Anyone who has loved vanilla ice cream and fried chicken must have a special place in heaven. Your family knew and loved him -- that's for certain.
